Through embodied awareness and intentional practice, we can live out what most deeply matters to us more fully, vibrantly and powerfully.

    Individual

Working one-on-one with a therapist can invite space to connect with yourself and more deeply engage in your life. Through interactive practices and body awareness, we will explore what wants to be transformed and what you are longing for. I do not see my role as a therapist as fixing people or telling anyone what to do. My practice offers space for reflection, creativity, and embodied practice, grounded in our relationship.

    Couples & Relationships

The practice of belonging both to ourselves and in relationship can be profound and transformative. I bring care and curiosity to relationship therapy as a mediator and lifelong student of connection. I am dedicated to working with a range of relational models including partners, siblings, friends, polyam and open relationships. I have experience holding space for queer and trans relationships, and people navigating racial, class, gender and cultural differences.

Examples of groups and issues I support:

Social justice organizers and politicized healers • White people transforming cultures of white supremacy • Anti-zionist Jews • Trans, intersex and 2-Spirit people  • Queer people •  Sex workers • Child sexual abuse survivors • Neurdivergent people • BDSM/kink practitioners and community • Consensual nonmonogamous relationships, including poly and open relationships

Connection to spirituality and life purpose • Boundaries •  Chronic Illness & Disability • Gender • Sexuality • Internalized oppression esp. cisheterosexism, ableism, classism, anti-semitism • Depression • Complex trauma and PTSD • Relationship and family challenges • Belonging • Grief and Loss  • Relationship to body & dissociation

10-session weekly somatic practice space for 2 queer friends

This offering is for you if…
- Queer friendships have transformed your life, enabling you to root more deeply in movements for liberation and more fully embody transformative justice values.
- You have been building family with your friends, and want to continue to subvert the draw to center romantic partnership as the primary focus of care.
- Your friendships are sites for transforming patterns of supremacy, including dynamics related to race, class, gender, age, body size, disability and chronic illness.
- You are interested in engaging with somatics, informed by generative somatics, and being in active practice in session with your friend.
- You understand friendship to be a spiritual practice, and are interested in connecting with your own spiritual practices in session.

Tending Resistance Zine

This zine is intended as a solidarity offering to the student encampments springing up at universities, as well as for everyone facing risks and taking action for a free Palestine. In support, and in thanks, to folks on the front lines of this movement for collective liberation, we have assembled some resources from our perspectives as a somatic therapist and an energetic herbalist. Created May 2024 by Jay Tzvia Helfand and Finn Oakes.
